Group and Private Instruction
FAQ: What's
the difference between private lessons and group
classes?
Group classes are
small and address students' individual needs as closely as possible.
Asking questions is encouraged. All participants work on the same
exercises in a given class. In addition to working with the instructor,
there is the benefit of interaction with and support from classmates.
Currently, beginnning students are directed to the courses at Norwalk
Community College.
Private classes obviously
address individual needs more directly, and many people learn more
quickly with this arrangement. Instruction is more personalized
and a program of study can be tailored to suit the individual student.
Private lessons can be scheduled by appointment to fit a busy or
changing schedule. Beginners are welcome to start with private lessons.
Group Instruction
Group classes follow an eight-week format. Each class requires
a minimum number of participants, typically 5, and has a maximum,
typically 8. Discounts are available for a second class taken. For
an additional class per week, there is a 10% discount. No refunds
will be available after start of session, however tuition may be
applied to the following session at the instructor's discretion.
Tuition is due by first class of session, and first come
first serve, though preference is given to continuing students.

Absences, Cancellations and Make-up
Policy
We strive to offer flexibility in our schedule
and maintain the continuity of classes to support
the learning process. Student absences can be
made-up at any scheduled class of the same type
(where available) while the participant is
currently enrolled, but will not extend past the
end of session. If discontinuing enrollment, the
participant should notify the instructor.
Scheduled class cancelations will be announced in class and noted
on the schedule page. Snow cancellations will be recorded at the
office number, (203) 852-0522, only in the event that class is canceled.
Class cancellations will be made up on a day designated at the end
of the session.
Private
Instruction
Private lessons in Tai-Chi, Chi-Kung, Pa-Kua or Hsing-i are available
to beginning or continuing students at the WaterWheel Tai-Chi studio.
Lessons can be reserved on a weekly basis or taken periodically
to supplement participation in group classes. Weekly lessons can
be paid for on a per lesson basis or in monthly blocks for discounted
rates (see the schedule page for rates). Notice of all cancellations
must be provided 24 hours in advance for a rescheduling of the lesson
within the next 7 days, otherwise the fee is non-refundable
